Adult Children of Alcoholics / Dysfunctional Families
We're recovering together in Adelaide, South Australia.
find a Meeting in SA
We are men and women who grew up in dysfunctional homes.

Welcome to the South Australian Intergroup of Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACA) / Dysfunctional Families. We are a Twelve Step, Twelve Tradition program, and we meet to share our experience of growing up in a neglectful and abusive environment. This trauma affects us today, and influences how we deal with all aspects of our lives.

ACA provides a safe, non-judgmental environment that allows us to grieve our childhoods and take an honest look at ourselves and our family. Together, we identify and heal our deep trauma, experience freedom from shame and abandonment, and become our own loving parents.

If you identify with any of the 14 Traits of an Adult Child (also known as The Laundry List) you may find a home in our program. We welcome you.

ACA Serenity Prayer
Higher power, grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know that one is me.
